Biography

Mr. Christian N. Ihenacho, BSc., MUP., Director of Planning and Environmental Services. He has over thirty five years of experience in Urban planning, and environmental regulatory policy management with cross-functional and multi-disciplinary work experiences, which enabled him to successfully manage projects of varying nature and complexity. His career covers many years of both public and private sector services in the United States, Nigeria, Ghana, Burkina Faso and Guinea. His service in Nigerian lasted about ten years, working as a National Coordinator on various projects for the nation’s Federal Ministry of Environment. In this capacity, he worked very closely with various United Nations organizations, the World Bank, and other public and private sector establishments in the country, and produced two nationally adopted regulatory documents.
Mr. Ihenacho held other responsible positions, including; CEO/Principal Environmental Specialist, OJI Environmental Services; Regulatory Development Manager, Mojave Desert Air Quality Management District; and Air Quality Specialist, South Coast Air Quality Management District serving the Greater Los Angeles Metropolitan Area of California. He is a dedicated professional, who consistently demonstrates quality leadership, sound policy analysis, and strong project management skills; a skillful team player with extensive experience in working with multidisciplinary and culturally diverse teams of professionals. Spearheaded the effort of OJI to assemble a team of California-based waste management companies and financing institutions to conduct feasibility studies for the Integrated Waste Management project in Imo State in Nigeria, with partial funding of $250,000.00 from the United State Trade Development Agency.

Beyond his architectural achievements, Valentine is a co-founder of the Paxton Academy, a trailblazing institution focused on advancing sports and science education for primary school students. He is also a founding force behind the Croydon Carnival of Cultures, a vibrant celebration of diversity and resilience, showcasing his dedication to fostering cultural enrichment and community empowerment.
In May 2023, Valentine was appointed Non-Executive Chair of the Windrush Generation Legacy Association, where he collaborates with the CEO to champion the charity’s vision and ensure its lasting impact. His extensive involvement in community initiatives underscores his unwavering commitment to driving social and cultural progress.
